GEXTRECS kick-off meeting at EUSPA, Prague

The Horizon Europe project GOVSATCOM Extreme Events Crisis Management Service (short name: GEXTRECS) has kicked off on 1 February 2024 and held its first meeting at the headquarters of the European Space Agency EUSPA on 8 February. 

GEXTRECS will define and demonstrate an End-to-End GOVSATCOM Service supporting Crisis Management by developing a solution that meets user needs and requirements for secure SATCOM, while also exploring synergies with other EU Space Programme components, notably Galileo and Copernicus, in emergency management. 

GEXTRECS will be implemented in the next 24 months to reach the set goals. For this purpose, 2 demonstrations are planned, focusing on cross-border emergency scenarios and on maritime emergencies. 

GEXTRECS brings together the following 8 partner organisations from 4 EU countries (Germany, Italy, Poland, and Spain) with relevant expertise in addressing project tasks and activities:
